DCS – DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEM
Petro Tech M.E supplies a diverse range of products and services including items and systems such as programmable controllers (PLC), distributed controllers (DCS), HMI systems, SCADA systems and communications equipment. Petro Tech M.E also executes turnkey projects, integration with other companies’ equipment and systems, as well as engineering and logistics management.
Its activities are based on advanced engineering know-how including definition of user needs, software development and implementation, manufacture of electrical and control panels, electrical and mechanical installation works, and commissioning in the field.
Petro Tech M.E supplies instrumentation equipment and systems for control of processes employed in the chemical and petrochemical industry in particular, but also in other industries such as power stations and energy plants, and in the food, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, paper, and cement industry, etc.
The majority of modern power plants and other large continuous industrial processes plant are often controlled by distributed control systems (DCS) or programmable logic controller (PLC) supervised by SCADA systems, which are optimized for complex calculations, logging and control, and provide an integrated environment at every level from field I/O to operator interface.
INTEGRATED CONTROL & SAFETY SYSTEMS
Petro Tech M.E supplies Integrated Control & Safety Systems (ICSS) for Industrial plants. Systems are designed to state of the art standards with complete redundancy at Controller, Power Supply, Communication and Visualization levels to guarantee smooth production and to ensure environmental and personnel safety.
Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS), regulates the production process by means of the Process Control System (BPCS), Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Fire and Gas detection System (FGS) and Electrical Control System (ECS).
With the ICSS any disruption to the process can be closely monitored in the form of visual, alarm logs and historical archives. Should any unwarranted process upset occur despite operator invention, the affected process units will be shutdown automatically by the highly integrated SIS.
The SIS prevents escalation of process upsets due to equipment failure, sudden fluctuation in process parameters or human error, whilst manipulating the control features.
The smooth operation of the Plant is largely dependent on the effectiveness of the control strategies implemented by the BPCS.
These include managing the start-up permissive, start-up bypass, sequence control, proper tuning of PID control loops, proper interlocking and recording functions such as sequence of events, historical archiving and alarm management.
- Seamless integration of PCS, SIS, FGS and ECS;
- Operator-friendly Human Machine Interface;
- Dedicated software library;
- Real-time data acquisition and display;
- Functionally separated safety systems approved by TUV up to SIL3;
- Optimized Performance to Cost of Ownership;
- Fit for Purpose design.
Petro Tech M.E enables industrial facilities to optimally deploy and maintain automation solutions resulting in enhanced productivity, reliability, safety, compliance, and flexibility of the assets and the enterprise. Petro Tech M.E design philosophy is based on a vendor neutral, best fit automation solution approach to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations.
Electrical Distribution Panels
Petro Tech M.E design and supply medium and low voltage electrical panels and MCC, PC, distribution.
Petro Tech M.E Engineering’s activity is based on advanced knowledge of the engineering sector and is able to evaluate complex specifications proposed by the customer and propose any system improvements both in technical and economic terms.
The constructive choice of these panels is determined by concepts such as: standardization interchange ability, sectioning of individual users maintainability of individual units, obtained by turning off the individual user and leaving the rest of the panel operational.
To achieve this type of construction, the switchgear carpentry is divided into drawers that can be fixed or removable, then the departures are customized according to the various loads present in the system and to their type of control circuit, the whole is based on the number of drawers used and their nominal power.
For each supply the accompanying technical documentation is issued: single-line and functional electrical diagrams, front and internal topographic, terminal blocks, equipment list, test certificates and conformity documentation.
